The group has an informal style of management by discussion, consensus, and letting the Chief Engineer have his own way except when totally impractical. New members are accepted on the basis of a 6 month introductory period. In general there are always a number of projects underway to extend and enhance the railway and its workshops. Running days are regarded as something of a distraction but most of us manage to steam our locomotives several times a year.
